A delightful stone-built, semi-detached cottage located in the peaceful village of Harmby, close to the popular Yorkshire towns of Leyburn and Middleham.
Built in the 1600s, Puzzle Cottage is the oldest property in the village and is believed to have been the falconry for Bolton Castle.
An unusual layout set out over three floors, the cottage has been sympathetically styled which adds to the immense character and charm of this historic old cottage. Featuring a well-equipped ground floor kitchen/diner and shower room, this is a wonderful holiday base.
The first floor lounge exudes character and is full of original features, the multi-fuel stove is perfect for those chilly evenings and an ideal place to relax after a long day out enjoying the Yorkshire Dales. A smart flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi and a variety of games for a relaxed evening in.
On the top floor, the gorgeous bedroom is an extremely cosy and romantic space to get away. Boasting an impressive beamed ceiling, the room also enjoys fantastic views across to Middleham Castle and the surrounding Yorkshire countryside.
To the front is a spacious, enclosed patio area, making a perfect place to sit out and eat breakfast in the morning or for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening.
The waterfall at Harmby is a hidden gem and is accessible by footpath, the village also offers great walks to local attractions further afield. Nearby Middleham has many excellent old pubs and local eateries, as well as the castle dating back to the 11th century. Just a short drive away you will find Leyburn's Forbidden Corner, an extraordinary four acre garden containing a labyrinth of tunnels, follies and other surprises. Other nearby attractions include Hawes, with its Dales Countryside Museum, The Wensleydale Creamery, Aysgarth Falls and Jervaulx Abbey.
